HashiConf
& HashiDays
What are they?
Twice a year HashiCorp hosts two conferences, HashiConf and HashiDays. HashiConf is HashiCorp's proprietary conference and should feel as such. HashiDays, while still taking the same amount of effort from the events team as HashiConf, is a smaller, more regionalized event.
Both should feel like a moment in time and have the goal of connecting community together. Branding for both should feel visual distinct, yet related, while also tied into corporate branding.

I led design production on signage across both the main conference and our evening social for HashiConf in 2023. I also designed our swag and the virtual platform avatars for both HashiConf and HashiDays.
2023 Branding
The brand for 2023 was all about light and dramatic reveal. To distinguish between the two conferences HashiConf utilizes a dark background and HashiDays a light one.

Swag
The challenge with swag was to create an illustration that aligned with a branded theme that heavily relied on gradients which doesn't easily translate to screenprinting. We were using these shapes that feel very void-like. To create this feeling in the swag, I strategically removed parts of the line work to create the feeling of shadows on the shapes so they feel like they are emerging from darkness and being illuminated.

Evening social signage
I designed and illustrated the evening social signage, venue map and wayfinding system.

Experiential
Since this venue was very dark, lighting was a very strategic part of design. Both because it tied back to the theme of dramatic reveals and because the space required it. For every event, the entrance should be a "wow" moment. For this year, I set up this light tunnel, placing all of the plants and lighting.

At our evening social venue, I worked with the lighting tech to curate the vibe throughout the venue.

Virtual platform avatars
These fun avatars were designed for the virtual platform. All are based off of the HashiCorp product logo suite.
